Throwback. But this one is too fine to not keeping having playing time!
HAHA this is CLASSIC. Best comment: “He looks like a crocodile.” You’ve got to be dead if you don’t think this is hilarious. Thanks Michelle!
Liquified is bringing the heat this summer, but Saturday night calls for a careful choice: Flux Pavilion at Tabernacle or Nicky Romero at Opera? Both are going to be fantastic, so there’s no obvious choice here. Flux has been firing up the heavy bass anthems (“Bass Cannon” anyone?) and gaining quite the massive following while Nicky Romero has popped onto the house scene and, quite frankly, started to take over with tracks like “Generation 303” and “Metropolis” with David Guetta. Which ever you decide, Saturday will be full of good times!

Wake up and smell the BASS! I got this one submitted to me from Erik Esquire himself and I’m sure as hell glad that I did. It’s heavy with bangers right from the start- uh HELLO, CAL STATE ANTHEM COLD BLANK REMIX! From there, you’ve got a mix of house, trance, techno, and even some dub and hip-hop tunes and remixes; some are even sick bootlegs by Erik himself! And I just love how it ends with Beastie Boys. RIP MCA.
Erik is a NY born and bred DJ that plays in the city alongside Fame Jenkins regularly on Friday nights at 1534/Jacques on Prince Street (Manhattan folks, check him out!) and has recently been focusing on his remix and bootleg production (as seen in this awesome mix). You can check out the rest of his work on his SoundCloud page or on Facebook and Twitter. One can never have too many followers!

I don’t always post videos, but this one is trippppayyyyy and fun. Plus this song rocks and it should be included in your day. I canNOT wait to see him again on the banks of the Ohio River for FORECASTLE. GOING TO BE CRAZY.
Glitchy, dubby, hip-hoppity fun. Think if the musical styles of KOAN Sound and Pretty Lights had a baby.
Been jamming to Two Fresh ever since catching them at Forecastle in 2010. These twin brothers (Kendrick and Sherwyn Nicholls) originally from Asheville, NC but transplants in the Denver, CO scene have been producing some tasty licks for years. They just recently ended tour support for Skrillex on the Mother Ship Tour, so expect to see big things from them in the coming months!
Here’s a throwback to one of my favorite tracks from their album Baker’s Dozen (download it for FREE here)
Grab the few remaining tickets to Rusko and Sigma at Masquerade TONIGHT!

Then get ready for a weekend of awesome music with Victor Calderone at REIGN and Markus Schulz at Opera on Friday night. These two world-famous DJs within 2 blocks of each other in one night? Good job, ATL.

Then spend your Saturday night with Atlanta’s own Washed Out as he plays his first show at the newly opened Terminal West. This venue will be IDEAL for this show, so it’s not to be missed. Get your tickets here!

On the heels of their announcement of their jump onto the Forecastle lineup bandwagon (meant in the best way possible as this festie is going to be the shiznit so get your tickets here!), Keys N Krates dropped this amazing chilled out and dubby remix.

But don’t worry, if you already bought tickets to the concert at the Tabernacle, they WILL be honored! If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, do so here! Just make note of the change and I’ll see you next Wednesday night!
What’s better than free music? Awesome free music. Check out Nashville DJ/producer Wick-It the Instigator’s new collection of dubstep and hip-hop influenced original and sampled tunes that will freshen up those playlists. Be sure to catch him at Forecastle in Louisville this July!
Yield to the swag that is this remix.
A 2011 throwback, but who’s counting? There’s always room for more of that “Downy Dubstep” in my book- you know, that softer side of bass that let’s you think a little more than just “where did my face go?” Big thanks to Nick for digging this one up out of the YouTube vaults for me!
You meet the most interesting people in the most random of times/places, no? One being in a corner of the blisteringly hot Zeds Dead show in late March during their moombahton segment when a dude dancing just as crazy as myself shouted “MOOMBAHTOOOOOON!” My ears definitely perked up and I thought, well hey, this guy knows what’s up. Well, I guess I just have an eye and an ear for that sort of thing because that guy not only knows what’s up with moombahton, he also knows how to drop the bass down low… way low. It’s my pleasure to introduce you to Seje Omieno, or better known as Midnite Panda, who has been playing all around Atlanta in just about every style you can think of: hip-hop, electro, moombahton (duh!), and just recently created one of the grimiest, true-to-original-UK-form dubstep mixes I’ve heard in a while:
And the beats (and the awesome panda images) keep on coming! Be sure to download all of the Midnite Panda mixes from his SoundCloud SoundCloud for absolutely FREE! And show him some southern hospitality on his Twitter too, why dontcha?
Stop what you’re doing right now and familiarize yourself with the world of the Urban Knights. K*A*N*E and Dr Specs, two electronic producers from the UK have created a fantasy world of top notch, “party-based” beats, mind twisting visuals, and uproarious pop-culture samples that create a punchy and quick-tempered experience unlike anything else. Check out this clip from one of their recent productions:
Pretty incredible, no? Well, that’s only just the beginning. Their ingenious mixes go way back, this dub hop mix from late 2010 that includes some of the most epic cinematic samples mixed in with bare bones UK dubstep and prime cut hip-hop from the States. Check out the rest of their videos on their website.
The duo is about to release their Step On Dem EP (listen to the previews of the tracks below), whose title song is chewed up and spit out into four different and bass heavy versions. What’s so amazing about these two dudes is that they’ve continued to grow their talents and their live shows as technology and music collide around them. This won’t be the last you hear of Urban Knights, trust me.
