Martin Solveig Smash Episode 4- “The Night Out”

So many cameos, so little time! There’s no telling how fun it was to make this most recent addition to Martin’s series of hilarious and entertaining videos. Oh, and personally, I think Sidney Samson rocks the hair.

My UMF Diary: Day 2 schedule

Ok… today is going to be a complete clusterfuck. I sadly know that there’s no possible way I’ll be able to make it to each one of these shows but I’m going to try my very hardest to follow this general schedule:

I’ve loved Netsky since this time last year and will be upset if I can’t make it in time to see him, but noon is a lot to ask. Other earlier shows that I don’t want to miss are Zedd, Felix Cartal (in the BAO Dome, coool!) and Skream! + Benga:
High Contrast b2b Netsky 12:00-1:00 UMF Brazil
Zedd 1:25-2:20 Main Stage
Felix Cartal 2:00-3:00 BAO Dome
Skream! + Benga 3:00-4:00 UMF Brazil

Not so much of a cluster during the middle of the day as there aren’t any conflicts with Nadastrom, Gesaffelstein or Laidback Luke, but I’ll need to cut my Flux Pavilion + Doctor P time a little short to be able to make it to Duck Sauce (I feel like it’s only fitting since I was THERE when A-Trak played “Barbara Streisand” for the first time at UMF in 2010):
Nadastrom 4:00-5:00 Annie Mac Presents
Gesaffelstein 5:00-6:00 Anne Mac Presents
Laidback Luke 5:30-6:45 Main Stage
Flux Pavilion + Doctor P 6:30-8:00 UMF Brazil
Duck Sauce 6:45-8:10 Main Stage

I initially though that since Pendulum’s DJ set and Fatboy Slim go on at the same time, I was totally screwed, but luckily, Fatboy’s set goes right up until 9:40 when the first of two major “oh shit” moments will hit me. Justice, DJ Shadow, and Sven Vath all play at the same time and there’s really no way around having to sacrifice two for the sake of one. Might have to settle on a coin toss, but we’ll see:
Pendulum DJ Set 8:00-9:00 UMF Brazil
Fatboy Slim 8:10-9:40 Main Stage
Justice 9:40-11:00 Main Stage/Sven Vath 9:30-11:30 Carl Cox Cocoon/DJ Shadow 9:30-11:00 Live Stage

Depending on what show I pick out of the three I just whined about, I definitely want to run over to catch the last bit of Dillon Francis in all his 1950s fashion glory but then here comes the real kicker- Avicii, 2manydjs, Annie Mac, AND Felguk all playing at the exact same times (none of which I’ve ever seen before)! What ever am I supposed to do?! I suppose that if I’m already down at Annie Mac’s stage seeing Dillon, I can catch a little bit of Felguk and Annie Mac to close out the day and hopefully get to see Avicii somewhere else this summer? But then again, Avicii let the world know on Sirius|XM on Thursday that he was premiering three new tracks plus one new remix that are going to be “dope” so… Sheesh, I need help:
Dillon Francis 10:00-11:00 Annie Mac Presents
Avicii 11:00-12:00 Main Stage/Felguk 11:00-12:00 BAO Dome/2manydjs 11:00-12:00 Live Stage/Annie Mac 11:00-12:00 Anne Mac Presents

Dillon Francis new EP and “Now Hear This”

Definitely do yourself a favor and head on over to Beatport (http://bit.ly/yVmDax) to buy this three-song EP Something, Something, Awesome. A clever and intense mix of electro and moombahton with some dub sounds thrown in there, “Now Hear This” and the other two songs “Falling Up” and “Dill The Noise” (yes, with Kill The Noise) really bring the heat. Listen to “Now Hear This” here:

Ultra Music Festival announces Phase 2 of Lineup!

Wolfgang, Felix Cartal, Richie Hawtin, Annie Mac (I honestly just want to hear her voice in person!), Pendulum, Mimosa, Bingo Players, Benny, Cazzette, Felguk, Dillon Francis and Gesaffelstein. WOW. Still waiting an official update to their website, but it’s been confirmed that we’ll be seeing the wonderful faces of the aforementioned folks plus SO many wonderful other artists at Ultra [face explodes]:

There’s ANOTHER (and final) lineup annoucement still coming, but this really just confirmed for me that Ultra is unlike any other festival on the planet. SOOOO SOON! I CANNOT WAIT! (Deadmau5 who?)

Chuckie- Who is Ready to Jump (Dillon Francis Remix)

Wow, so I know I just recently featured the original track (which I do love), but this remix is insannnnnity. It will entertain your brain and sound dear to your ear. I’m also a little sad that I didn’t heard this before I started putting together my top tracks countdown :(  My sincerest apologies, Dillon.

Steve Aoki ft. Rivers Cuomo- Earthquakey People (Dillon Francis Remix)

Now, the original of this song isn’t my favorite, as I’ve already mentioned, but this remix by Dillon Francis really is the (syncopated) spice this track was looking for. He cranks up the electo house funk which makes it much easier to tap that foot. Hope you like it!

Chase & Status - Hiltz ( Dillon Francis Remix )

fucking dope.

Love, love the syncopation in this song and the upbeat tempo that turns a would-be dubstep song into a fun, hard-hitting Electro house track.
