I’ve really come to expect alot from Boys Noize. Ever since seeing him in an intimate setting at Miami Music Week, his music, his unibrow, and especially the swagged out company he keeps (and sexy… ahem Gessafelstein + Brodinski in particular), rose the Berlin DJ/producer close to my heart. Out Of The Black is an extremely well put together album: plain and simple. Ease into things with the first two singles that were pre-released in “What You Want” and the heart-pounding track “XTC” who’s crazy fresh beat acts alone as a peer pressure tool. The transition to a melodic funky build with what sounds like a clear tribute to the electronic legends of Daft Punk in “Ich R U” is brilliantly subtle as are the rock and roll drums and hi-hat syncopation in “Rocky 2.” Each track brings a different dynamic to the album, yet is cohesive enough to be easily imagined in a live set.
Check out the fabulous new video of “Ich R U”, will you?
Buy the album on iTunes and oh, you think you can get past me without listening to Boys Noize’s feature mix on Diplo & Friends? Nuh uh…
