FKA twigs- “Papi Pacify”
Get ahead of the game and check out one of next years artists to watch. London’s FKA twigs takes a soulful approach to cerebral, almost experimental, electronic music. I would even go so far as to compare her music to James Blake (ehem, a 2014 Grammy nominee). She also has great videos.
Grizzly Bear- “Will Calls (Diplo Remix)”
Yessss, Diplo swings in with a winner.
Marley Carroll- “First Thought, Best Thought”
I saw Marley just about a year ago live at the Trinumeral Festival here in Atlanta and his set was soooo impressive. He’s got some new tunes out and they’re just lovely.
Brodinski- “The Basel Castle Official Mix”
In honor of today’s Basel Castle in Miami, join in on the festivities remotely with Brodinski’s official mix.
EHL Warm Communications- “Promo Mix November 2013”
No need to stay warm in this Atlanta weather we’re having, but nonetheless, enjoy Warm Communications’ November 2013 Promo Mix.
SCNTST- “Wavez Change”
Damn son, where’d you find this? Berlin, nbd.
OVERWERK- Conquer EP
Of course you guys have already heard the title track Conquer, but just you wait until you hear the whole four song EP… OVERWERK, the electro house redeemer: textures, detail, dynamics, clever builds, sustained tensions, levels to this shit. This is one my favorite EPs of the year.
SALM- “Toy Spark Gun ft. Dan Black”
I love the remixes on this tune, but the original mix is simply breathtaking: that with the string quartet and Dan Black’s vocals.
Part 2 of 2 on how Eric Prydz is in the running for the best producer and labelhead (think about all the Pryda Friends releases this year) of 2013. F.A.T. JAMS.
Pryda- “LYCKA (Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record In The World)”
Recently out with two new killer track, Eric Prydz talks for a bit with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe. Part 1 of 2 on how Pryda is a strong candidate for the best electronic dance music producer in the world.
Kenna & RJD2- “How Will It End”
Sorry for the Thanksgiving weekend hiatus, but I’m back with a new killer track from Dim Mak’s Kenna and live sampling OG RJD2 that builds up to a three-part Frank Ocean meets “Numbers On The Boards” jam.
Thrash Pilot- “One Armed Man”
I am thankful for 808s! They make my boyfriend the best he can be!
Curses- Safer At Night DJ Mix
First of many new mixes from Brooklyn’s master of the darkness Curses. Enjoy!
George FitzGerald- “MAGNETIC”
This song is just sort of… weird. And I like it. What can I say? I have an undeniable attraction to weird.
WD2N- “Sultans of Swing Remix”
This is a CLASSIC rock song (no pun intended) from Dire Straits reworked into a smooth house record. Enjoy the blast from the past!
